Spotted Owl - Spotted!
from $14.10
I spent several years living in Oregon when the controversy about the Northern Spotted Owl became headlines. The logging industry was taking down a great deal of the old growth forests and it just so happened that it was the primary habitat for the Spotted Owl. It was then listed as an endangered species. Sadly, the population of this amazing bird is still diminishing today. The scene of this painting was from a hike in the Cascades during a snowfall. The owl reference came from several photographs given to me by birders.
